Cambrian Heights Baptist Church was first conceived by members of Westbourne Baptist Church, a Regular Baptist Affiliate, located near the Stampede Grounds because the members were investigating a new and different way to promote Missions. They considered how other churches supported Missionaries and were interested in the Southern Baptist Convention that used the Cooperative Program as its outreach.

A MESSAGE SENT BUT NOT DELIVERED
George Sweeting, in his book The No-Guilt Guide to Witnessing, tells of a man by the name of John Currier who, in 1949, was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison. Later, he was transferred and paroled to work on a farm near Nashville, Tennessee. In 1968, Currier’s sentence was terminated and a letter bearing the good news was sent to him. But John never saw the letter, nor was he told anything about it. Life on the farm was hard, and without promise for the future. Yet, John kept doing what he was told even after the farmer for whom he worked had died. Ten years went by. Then a state parole officer learned about Currier’s plight, found him, and told him that his sentence had been terminated. He had been a free man all those years.
My journey in Christian ministry began full time in 2012. However, I began my journey into youth ministry eight months ago. God is using this time in my life to help me lead young followers of Christ in their journeys. Along the way, God is using them to speak profound, yet simple, truths into my life! There are a multitude of things that go into youth ministry that seminary or growing up in a youth group never prepare you for.
One of those tasks that you never think of is that of choosing material in which to study for small group or for the Bible study on Sunday morning. After completing a small video series, I asked the college/young adult class what they wanted to study moving into the future. The inevitable group response……Revelation.
